Dubbing completed for Alangu

The film stars Chemban Vinod Jose and Kaali Venkat in prominent roles

Dubbing for SP Shakthivel's Alangu has been wrapped, the makers announced on Monday. The filmmaker has previously helmed Urumeen (2015) and Payanigal Gavanikkavum (2022). The latter was the official Tamil remake of Vikruthi (2019). 

Alangu stars Chemban Vinod Jose, Kaali Venkat, Sarath Appani and newcomer Gunanidhi in prominent roles. The film is billed to be based on true events that occurred on the borders of Tamil Nadu and Kerala and will revolve around a conflict between Malayali political groups and Tamil tribal youths. 

In a previous conversation with CE, the director said, "Chemban Vinod and Sarath Appani play siblings, and the former essays the role of a politician, while Gunanidhi represents the tribal gang, and a dog plays a crucial role in the film." 

D Sabareesh and SA Sangamithra are backing the film under the DG Film Company and Magnas Productions banners respectively. Sreerekhaa, Kotravai,Regin Rose, Shanmugam Muthusamy, Master Ajay, Idhayakumar round out the supporting cast of Alangu

The film's technical team includes cinematographer  S Pandikumar, editor San Lokesh and music composer Ajesh. A release date for Alangu is yet to be announced.
