Ahead of the release of the sequel to Vetrimaaran's social drama Viduthalai, Viduthalai Part 2, the making video of the village set, which serves as the film's backdrop, was dropped on Saturday.

The glimpse showed the works involved in erecting the set and towards the end it teased with a funeral scene and speech of Perumal Vaathiyar (Vijay Sethupathi) in the village.

Helmed by Vetrimaaran, Viduthalai Parts 1 and 2 star Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. Manju Warrier will be seen as Vijay Sethupathi's partner in the second part of the film. The second part is expected to delve more into the Perumal Vathiyar (Vijay Sethupathi) character, of which we could only see glimpses in the first part.

Viduthalai Part 1 was released last year and revolves around police brutality. The film received positive reviews and is considered one of the most hard-hitting films of Tamil cinema. While most of the second part had been shot during the production of the first part itself, the remainder of the filming and an extensive postproduction did not permit an immediate release after Part 1's success. Viduthalai Part 2 will also see Chethan, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, Saravana Subbiah, and Munnar Ramesh reprising their roles from the first film.

On the technical team, Viduthalai Part 2 has cinematography handled by R. Velraj and editing by R Ramar. It is produced by Elred Kumar under the RS Infotainment banner and Vetrimaaran's Grass Root Film Company. The films were earlier screened at the Rotterdam Film Festival. The film is releasing in theatres on December 20
