Dream Warrior Pictures, the production banner of Suriya 45, announced that Trisha has joined the film's cast, thus confirming the recent speculation about her involvement in it. As reported earlier, the yet-to-be-titled film is directed by RJ Balaji. Recently, Sai Abhyankar replaced AR Rahman as its music composer. The film brings Suriya and Trisha back together after 2005's Aaru. It also reunites Suriya with his NGK producers and RJ Balaji with his Sorgavaasal makers, SR Prabu and SR Prakash Babu of Dream Warrior Pictures.

The film was officially launched with a pooja ceremony earlier this year, and it is in pre-production. The makers are yet to reveal further details about the plot and characters of Suriya 45. On the technical front, it also has cinematography by GK Vishnu.

Suriya's upcoming projects also include an untitled project with director Karthik Subbaraj, as well as co-stars Pooja Hegde, Joju George Jayaram, and Karunakaran. On the other hand, Balaji leads the cast of the upcoming film Happy Ending from director Ammamuthu Surya and the production house Million Dollar Studios, which backed Good Night and Lover. And Trisha has Vidaamuyarchi, opposite Ajith, in the pipeline.
