Ahead of the release of his latest film Vaazhai on Friday, director Mari Selvaraj revealed an update on his next venture with Dhruv Vikram, titled Bison. Mari said that about 70 percent of the film has been completed and that around 25–30 days of shooting remain. The shooting is expected to resume after the release of Vaazhai.

Announced earlier this year, Bison will be a sports drama revolving around Kabbadi. The film will be Mari Selvaraj's fifth venture, following Pariyerum Perumal (2018), Karnan (2021), Maamannan (2023), and Vaazhai. It will also be Dhruv's third release after Adithya Varma (2019) and Mahaan (2022).

Bison stars Anupama Parameswaran, Lal, Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal and Aruvi Madhan among others. The film will be backed by Applause Entertainment and Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions, and will have music by Nivas K Prasanna, cinematography by Ezhil Arasu, and editing by Sakthikumar.
