On Sunday, Lyca Productions announced that they will be dropping a new update about Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan at 10 am on Monday. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil in prominent roles, the film is written and directed by TJ Gnanavel. 

Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Rithika Singh, and VJ Rakshan round out the supporting cast of Vettaiyan. Previously, in May, it was announced that Rajinikanth wrapped shooting for his portions in the film. Vettaiyan is currently in the post-production stage.

It is to be noted that Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth are reuniting for a film after 33 years. Their collaboration dates back to films like Andhaa Kaanoon (1983), and Geraftaar (1985). Their last film was Hum, which was released in 1991.

Vettaiyan has music by Anirudh Ravichander. This marks Anirudh's fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth. Previously, the musician had composed for Rajinikanth's Petta, Darbar, and Jailer. Other members of the technical crew include cinematographer S R Kathir and editor Philomin Raj.

Vettaiyan is scheduled to hit theatres in October.
