Multiple reports are suggesting a potential pan-Indian collaboration between Aamir Khan and Lokesh Kanagaraj, to be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, although an official statement is awaited. 

Lokesh Kanagaraj is a director from the Tamil film industry known for his action thrillers. After making his debut with the 2017 film Maanagaram, Lokesh went on to collaborate with bigger stars. Kaithi (2019), starring Karthi as a mysterious ex-convict, would lay out the basement for the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Lokesh followed this up with the Vijay-starrer Master (2021).

He further directed more installments to the LCU, such as the Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram (2022) and the Vijay-starrer Leo (2023). Films of the LCU are usually action-packed and revolve around fighting against drug peddling. Lokesh is currently busy with Rajnikanth's Coolie.

Aamir Khan's last theatrical outing was in 2022. The actor starred in Laal Singh Chaddha, which was a remake of the 1994 film Forrest Gump. Aamir recently wrapped up shooting for his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna. Sitaare Zameen Par is said to be based on the 2018 Spanish film Champions.
