Actor Santhosh Prathap has signed up for Anjali's 50th film, Eegai. He took to Instagram to announce the news with a poster of his police officer character. He captioned the post, "Happy and excited to be part of this intense suspense thriller movie."

A day before the announcement of him being cast in the film, the actor shared a video of him working out and getting fit for the role. He is best known for titles such as Kazhuvethi Moorkkan, Sarpatta Parambarai, Pathu Thala, and Maruthi Nagar Police Station.

The title Eegai was first announced early last year, with a poster of Anjali covered with a red scarf and standing in the middle of black umbrellas in the rain. Ashok Velayutham is directing the film from his own screenplay.

The film has cinematography by Sridhar G, music by Dharan Kumar, and editing by Srikanth.

Santhosh's upcoming title is the horror-comedy Aranmanai 4, and Anjali's next project is the action drama Gangs of Godavari.
