Rajinikanth's much-awaited film, Vettaiyan, will hit the theatres in October. The production house behind the film, Lyca Productions, announced the same on their social media handles on Sunday.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, who shot to fame directing the Suriya-starrer Jai Bhim (2021), the upcoming film features an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Rithika Singh, and VJ Rakshan. Notably, Bachchan will be sharing the screen with Rajinikanth after 33 years. The last time they were seen together was in the Hindi film Hum in 1991.

Vettaiyan, which began filming in October last year, features music by Anirudh Ravichander. This marks Ravichander's fourth collaboration with a Rajinikanth starrer. Previously, the musician had played keys for Rajinikanth's Petta, Darbar, and Jailer. Other members of the technical crew include cinematographer S R Kathir and editor Philomin Raj.

Meanwhile, Lyca has also announced that one of the year's big titles, Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, will hit the theatres in June.
