On Saturday, political commentator Savukku Shankar shared a piece of news on his official X handle about the audio launch of Vijay's upcoming film, Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The news, published by S Plex Tamil, read, "Vijay's Leo audio release event is to be held on 30th September in Nehru Indoor Auditorium. So far permission is not given. DMK family's Red Giant is arm-twisting the producer of Leo that, permission will be given only if distribution rights of Chennai, Chengalpattu, North Arcot, and South Arcot are given to Red Giant Movies."

Seven Screen Studio, the producer of Leo quashed the news and said that they were merely rumours. Replying to the post, the producer said, "Sir, this is to clarify that this news is not true.." He has, however, not revealed anything else about the audio launch event.

It is to be noted that Red Giant Movies is an Indian film production and distribution company headed by actor, politician and businessman Udhayanidhi Stalin. Udhayanidhi is the Tamil Nadu Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development. He recently quit acting after his latest outing Maamannan, helmed by Mari Selvaraj.

Also starring an ensemble cast including Trisha, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, Mysskin, etc, Leo is all set to hit theatres on October 19.
