Karthi begins dubbing for Japan

The film is helmed by Raju Murugan

On Wednesday, the makers of Japan announced that Karthi has begun dubbing for the film. The announcement came along with a video that shows Karthi trying to say the dialogue, "Karma naa enna nu theriyuma da unakku?" (Do you know what Karma means?), but not getting the modulation right even after several tries. He then gets into his character's costume and nails the dialogue with a different kind of voice, unique to Japan.

A quirky actioner, Japan is helmed by Raju Murugan. The film is slated to hit theatres for Diwali, 2023. The teaser of the film, which was released on Karthi's birthday recently, showcased him in a never-before-seen look and role as a wacky gangster.

Backed by Dream Warrior Pictures, Japan marks the second collaboration between director Raju Murugan and Dream Warrior Pictures after Joker.  Apart from Karthi, Japan also stars Anu Emmanuel, Sunil, and cinematographer-filmmaker Vijay Milton in pivotal roles.

While the music of Japan is by GV Prakash Kumar, the cinematography and editing are by Ravi Varman, and Philomin Raj, respectively.
