On Tuesday, the makers of Criminal released a new poster of Gautham Karthik to mark the occasion of the actor's birthday. The actor is seen in casual clothing, with a gun in his hand. Apart from Gautham Karthik, the film also stars Sarath Kumar in the lead. 

Written and directed by debutant Dhakshina Moorthy Ramar, Criminal is produced by PR Meenakshi Sundaram and IB Karthikeyan under Parsa Pictures and Big Print Pictures.

In an earlier conversation with CE, the director said that Criminal is a murder mystery. Set in Madurai, Sarath plays a rural cop and Gautham plays an accused.

Criminal's technical crew includes cinematographer Prasanna S Kumar, music composer Sam CS, editor Manikandan Balaji and production designer Surya Rajeevan.

The shooting of the film has been completed with post-productions nearing completion. A release date is yet to be announced.
