Jailer's success: Kalanithi Maran gifts brand new BMW X7 to Rajinikanth

Following the spectacular success of Jailer, the CEO of Sun Pictures, Kalanithi Maran, has gifted a brand new BMW X7 to actor Rajinikanth. Sun Pictures has shared the news through their social media handles.

The video shared by Sun Pictures shows Kalanithi Maran presenting two brand-new vehicles to the superstar, with the caption stating that the actor can choose the one he prefers.

Another tweet from the media conglomerate revealed that Kalanithi welcomed Rajni with a check and a bouquet.

The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, hit the theatres on August 10, and it has minted a humongous sum of more than Rs 500 crores at the worldwide box office even before it entered the fourth week of the theatrical release.  

Featuring Rajinikanth as Muthuvel Pandian, a former jailer, the film revolves around the character tackling an idol smuggler who imprisoned his son. 

Jailer features cameo appearances by stalwarts of the Indian film industries, including Mohanlal, Shivrajkumar, and Jackie Shroff. Others in the cast include Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayak, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Sunil, and Tamannaah, among others.

The film opened to mixed to positive responses, and the dark comedy action drama has Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer and Vijay Karthik Kannan handling the cinematography. Jailer marks Nelson's fourth directorial after BeastDoctor and Kolamavu Kokila.
