Lyca Productions, the production house backing Shankar's Indian 2 shared an announcement stating that an update regarding the much-awaited film starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role will be out tomorrow, October 29, at 11 am.

The announcement, which looks like a picture of a stack of papers, says, "Received copy" and has been signed by Senapathy. This has confirmed that the actor will be reprising his role as Senapathy in the sequel. 

Indian 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 1996 film marks the reunion of Shankar and Kamal Haasan after several years. 

It is co-produced by Lyca Productions in association with Red Giant Movies. The upcoming film also features Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Guru Somasundaram, and Bobby Simha in prominent roles. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Ravi Varman handles the camera.

Kamal Haasan, who was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram (2022) has a bunch of projects in hand. He will be seen in a prominent role in Kalki 2898 AD directed by Nag Ashwin, the untitled KH 233, directed by H Vinoth and KH 234 directed by Mani Ratnam.

KH 234, the sophomore collaboration between legendary actor Kamal Haasan and the renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam, after the 1987 classic film Nayakan, went on floors yesterday.

Recently Kamal revealed that the teaser of the film will be out on November 7, which marks the actor's 69th birthday.

Meanwhile, Shankar is also working on his Telugu debut as a director for Game Changer. The film stars Ram Charan in the lead role. Karthik Subbaraj has written the story of Game Changer. The film also stars Kiara Advani, SJ Suryah, Anjali, Jayaram, Sunil, Srikanth, Nassar, and Samuthirakani among others in prominent roles.
