Earlier today, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan apologized for mistakenly liking a tweet that mentioned the alleged fallout between Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj. In response, Lokesh asked Vignesh to "chill bro".

Vijay's much-awaited film Leo, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is all set for a release on October 19. The film has been getting a little touchy since the cancellation of the audio launch, and the later-released trailer also didn't go well with the Netizens. It was at this juncture Vignesh was dragged into the controversy.

The now-deleted X post that Vignesh liked read, "Lokesh sir, We all know what happened between you and Vijay after Naa Ready song releases, and we clearly know why you would have to remove Leo hashtag and not to use Vijay's name in any of your promotions after that…”

In the apology penned on his X handle, Vignesh wrote, "Dear Vijay sir fans, Loki fans… sorry for the confusion (folded hands emoticon) without even seeing the msg, the context or the content of the video or the tweet, by just seeing Loki’s interview I liked the video! cos am a big fan of his works and his interviews and the way he speaks !"

He added that he is also anticipating the release of Leo, and he should have been careful to read the tweet first. His post read, "Am also eagerly awaiting for the grand release of Thalapathy Vijay sir’s Leo .. by impulse, I just liked seeing Loki bro’s image in the interview, like the same way I saw a shot of Nayan in a video clip where she had performed brilliantly and it was one of my fav shots so instantly liked that tweet also …. My bad! I didn’t even see the video inside or read the tweet involved in both cases ! Should have been careful! Sorry."

Admitting that it was a silly mistake, the Naanum Rowdy Dhaan director extended his apologies to Vijay fans across the globe and said he is eagerly looking forward to catching the film on October 19. He also urged people to stop wasting time in commenting more and start celebrating Leo.

Leo starring Vijay, Trisha, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sandy, Trisha, Myskiin, Priya Anand and Mansoor Ali Khan, is all set to hit theatres worldwide on October 19. Leo marks the sophomore collaboration between Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj.
