The makers of Margazhi Thingal have announced that the rural romantic drama will hit theatres worldwide on October 20. Earlier, the film was set to release on October 5.

Starring his father and veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja in the lead role, the film also stars debutants Rakshana and Shyam Selvan in prominent roles.

The trailer of Margazhi Thingal establishes that Rakshana is very close to her grandfather, played by the veteran Bharathiraja. She falls in love with Vinodh (Shyam Selvan) at school, which partially affects her grades. While her grandfather suggests that she refrain from meeting Vinodh until they complete their education, bigger social evils like caste separate the two from uniting.

While the film is backed by director Suseenthiran under the Vennila Productions banner, Ilaiyaraaja will score the music. Suseenthiran has also played a role in the upcoming film. Margazhi Thingal will have cinematography by AR Suriya and editing by Thiyagu.

It is to be noted that Manoj made his acting debut with Taj Mahal, which was helmed by Bharathiraja.
