Chinmayi: 96 will be special forever

The singer wrote about the film on the occasion of its fifth anniversary

On Tuesday, the Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi film '96 completed 5 years since its release in 2018. Singer Chinmayi Sripaada, who sang all songs in the film also dubbed for Trisha, took to her official X handle to pen a note on the anniversary. 

Sharing the poster she wrote, "It is 5 years of this beautiful film in which I am and was grateful to sing all of the songs; which turned out be some of the best in my career and got to dub for Trisha / Samantha. Kaathale Kaathale to Iravingu Theevai96 will be special forever."

Written and directed by Premkumar C, '96's music was composed by Govind Vasantha. Gouri G Kishan, Aditya Bhaskar, Devadarshini, Janagaraj, Bhagavathi Perumal, and Varsha Bollama were also a part of the film's cast. 

The film was remade in Telugu as Jaanu starring Sharwanand and Samantha in 2020, by C Premkumar.  It was also remade in Kannada with the title 99 by Preetham Gubbi, starring Ganesh and Bhavana.
