Superstar Rajinikanth who is gearing up for his upcoming project Thalaivar 170 jetted off to Kochi for the shooting of the film.
Speaking to reporters outside the airport, he confirmed that he was heading to shoot for Thalaivar 170. He also revealed that the film would be a big commercial movie backed by a message. Rajinikanth also said his recent film Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar was more successful than he expected.
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film is backed by Lyca Productions. The makers have been rolling out the cast announcements for the past few days. Earlier in the day, the makers revealed that Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati have joined the cast. Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh and Manju Warrier are the rest of the cast members that have been announced by the makers. The latest to join the cast is Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
While the technical crew is yet to be announced, the makers have revealed that Thalaivar 170 will have music scored by Anirudh Ravichander.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is awaiting the release of his upcoming film Lal Salaam, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The makers recently unveiled the poster and revealed that the film will hit theatres for Pongal 2024. As of now, the film will be competing with Sivakarthikeyan's much-awaited Ayalaan.
Backed by Lyca Productions, Lal Salaam stars the veteran actor in an extended cameo, in a character named Moideen Bhai. Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth headline the film.
Rajinikanth also has Thalaivar 171 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in the pipeline.
