Nayanthara's Annapoorani clears censor formalities

CE Features

Nayanthara's Annapoorani will hit the theatres on December 1 with a U certificate from the censor board. The film, directed by debutant Nilesh Krishnaa, marks the actor's 75th film in her career.

In a previous conversation with CE, the director said, "Nayanthara is from an orthodox family in Trichy's Srirangam. The film will showcase Nayanthara's character's journey as she chases her dream and strives hard amid all obstacles to make it come true. When we are making a film on food, and Nayanthara plays the lead role, what better title can be named for this other than Annapoorani?"

Besides Nayanthara, the film also stars Jai, who will be reuniting with Nayanthara after Raja Rani (2013). Sathyaraj, KS Ravikumar, Achyuth Kumar, Redin Kingsley, Kumari Sachu, Karthik Kumar, Renuka, Suresh Chakravarthy and Poornima Ravi are also part of the cast.

The film's cinematography is handled by Sathyan Sooryan, and Praveen Antony is handling the editing and musical score by Thaman S. The film is backed by Zee Studios, Naad SStudios and Trident Arts.
