Previously, we reported that the makers of Lal Salaam released the film's teaser. Meanwhile, speculations were rife that the film may not hit theatres as slated. However, on Wednesday, the makers reaffirmed that the film will be released as planned for Pongal 2024. 

Helmed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam stars Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal in lead roles. Rajinikanth has played an extended cameo as Moideen Bhai in the film, making it his first collaboration with his daughter. 

While Vishnu Vishal plays a character called Thirunavukkarasu, the character name of Vikranth is yet to be revealed. The film also stars Senthil, Jeevitha, Thambi Ramaiah, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, Thangadurai, and KS Ravikumar among others. 

The upcoming film is billed to be a sports drama based on cricket. It will also reportedly have a political relevance. Lal Salaam has music composed by AR Rahman, marking his first-ever collaboration with Aishwarya. With cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy, the film has editing by Pravin Baaskar. 

Lal Salaam will compete with Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan and Dhanush's Captain Miller at the box office.
