On Friday, Red Giant Movies took to their official Twitter handle to announce that Prabhas' next film, Salaar will be released in Tamil Nadu by the production and distribution company. 

The film, helmed by Prashanth Neel, was originally scheduled to release on September 28. It is now hitting theatres on December 22. The film has Shruti Haasan as the female lead.

Salaar, also known as Salaar-The Ceasefire is a Kannada-Telugu bilingual, with simultaneous releases in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam as well. 

Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the film's principal antagonist, with Sriya Reddy, Jagapathi Babu, Madhu Guruswamy, Ramachandra Raju, Garuda Ram and Tinnu Anand forming the supporting cast. Prithviraj is also distributing the film in Kerala. 

Salaar is produced by Hombale Films, which has also produced Prashanth's previous films. Ravi Basrur has composed the film's music, with cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda, editing by Ujwal Kulkarni and production design by Shivakumar and TL Venkatachalapathi.
