Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj took to his X handle to share the much-awaited trailer of Jigarthanda Double X, starring SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence in the lead roles.

The 2.50-minute-long trailer follows a familiar path which is similar to the first part. The story which unfolds in 1975, showcases SJ Suryah's character as a filmmaker trying to make a film with a gangster played by Raghava Lawrence. Lawrence's character debuts as 'Tamil cinema's first black hero' after breaking the stereotype of casting fair heroes as the leads.

When Suryah screams, "Roll camera and action," the action begins and we can see the gangster involved in shooting and killing his enemies. Shine Tom Chacko is then introduced as the 'villain's villain'. Nimisha Sajayan is seen as a tribal woman.

Jigarthanda Double X is the sequel to the 2014 film Jigarthanda which starred Siddharth and Bobby Simha. Nimisha Sajayan, Sanjana Natarajan, and Naveen Chandra play key roles in the upcoming film. 

Jigarthanda Double X's technical crew includes music composer Santhosh Narayanan, cinematographer S S Thirunavukarasu, who collaborated with Karthik Subbaraj in Mercury and Petta, and editor Shafique Mohamed Ali.

The film is backed by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and Kathiresan under the Stone Bench Films & Five Star Creations banners.
