On Thursday, writer-director Rathna Kumar took to his X handle to announce that he will be taking a break from social media for a while. The announcement comes after Lokesh Kanagaraj recently said in an interview that he too will be taking a hiatus to pen the script of Thalaivar 171.

He wrote on the social media platform, "Going offline for writing. Taking a break from social media until my next film announcement. See you soon." 

Rathna Kumar was recently one of the screenwriters for Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo. He has previously helmed Meyaadha Maan, Aadai and Gulu Gulu. He has also written dialogues for Lokesh's Vikram and Master

Rathna Kumar was reportedly making a film with Raghava Lawrence and Nayanthara, with Lokesh Kanagaraj as the producer. However, official announcements regarding the same are yet to be made.
