The final schedule of P Vasu's Chandramukhi 2 is being shot in Mysore and is progressing at a brisk pace. Notably, Vadivelu and Raghava Lawrence have joined the sets and the team is planning to wrap up in a span of 10-15 days, with an aim to release the film for Vinayagar Chathurthi in September.

There is no clarity on whether the film is a direct sequel to Chandramukhi (2005), which in turn was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu (1997). Chandramukhi starred Superstar Rajinikanth, Prabhu, Jyotika, Nayanthara and Vadivelu. 

Chandramukhi 2 stars Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the lead and she is said to be playing the titular character. It 2 marks her third project in Tamil after Dhaam Dhoom (2008) and Thalaivii (2021). 

The cast also includes Vadivelu, Radhika, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Mahima Nambiar and Ravi Maria, among others. The film is backed by Lyca Productions. The film has music by MM Keeravani.
