The first track Raasa Kannu from the upcoming Tamil film Maamannan was released by the makers on Friday. Crooned by Vadivelu, the song is composed by AR Rahman.

The lyrical video of Raasa Kannu has visuals of Vadivelu, Rahman and Mari Selvaraj recording the song, while we also see some snippets of rural folk, all in black and white. Yuga Barathi has written the lyrics for the song.

Maamannan is written and directed by Mari Selvaraj as his third directorial venture after Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan. The upcoming feature stars Udhayanidhi Stalin, Keerthy Suresh, Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil in lead roles. Notably, it will mark Udhayanidhi's final film as actor before he takes up full-fledged political career.

While a release date is yet to be revealed, the makers are planning for a June release. The film is backed by Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant movies. The technical crew includes cinematographer Theni Eswar, editor Selva, lyricist Yugabharathi and dance choreographer Sandy.
