Vikram returns to sets of Thangalaan

Actor Vikram, who is currently basking the success of Ponniyin Selvan 2, will be resuming the shoot of his upcoming film Thangalaan, the makers revealed on social media. The actor will start shooting for the film in Chennai.

Directed by Pa Ranjith in his first collaboration with Vikram, Thangalaan is backed by Studio Green and is a period film set against the backdrop of KGF in Karnataka. It is expected to showcase the origin story of the place. The film also stars Parvathy Thiruvottu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Hari Krishnan in pivotal roles.

GV Prakash is scoring the music of the film, marking his first collaboration with the filmmaker. Tamil Prabha is the co-writer of the film, while Selva RK and SS Murthi will be handling the editing and art departments, respectively. The film will also release in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Vikram had appeared in his Thangalaan look, with long hair and dreadlocks, while promoting Ponniyin Selvan 2. The actor had played the role of Aditha Karikalan in the Mani Ratnam-directorial.
