Music streaming platform Spotify has launched an exclusive RADAR playlist for Tamil independent artist. The news was announced at an event that happened in the city, in the presence of composer-actor Hiphop Tamizha Adhi.
RADAR Tamil, is a program that aims to put the spotlight on the Tamil independent artist community. This is the first time Spotify’s global flagship RADAR program is going regional in India. RADAR is Spotify’s global program to accelerate the growth of emerging artists.
Spotify also hosted a Spotify for Artists masterclass, followed by a panel discussion on the emergence of non-film music in Tamil, before the reveal of RADAR Tamil. Independent artists Marshall Robinson, Iykki Berry, and Martin Kartenjer performed at the event.
