On Thursday, the makers of Ponniyin Selvan released a short video that showed how Jayam Ravi embraced and fit into the sleeve of his character, Arunmozhi Varman. The video shows the actor speaking about his journey, along with visuals of fans praising him for his performance. The video shows what went into making Jayam Ravi the titular character Ponniyin Selvan alias Raja Raja Chola.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan I was received very well and minted big at the box office. The epic period film also features Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban.

The film, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. 

Produced under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners, Ponniyin Selvan was shot by Ravi Varman. The technical crew includes editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani. 

Ponniyin Selvan II is all set to hit theatres on April 28.
