The film, which also stars Radha Ravi, sheds light on the effects of alcoholism and its impact on families

A Sharadhaa

Vijayalakshmi Veerappan, the daughter of late forest brigand Veerappan, makes her film debut with Maaveeran Pillai, which is made in Tamil and will be dubbed in Kannada. The makers, who are looking for an April release, recently had an audio launch in the presence of Veerappan’s wife, Muthulakshmi, and other noted dignitaries from the film industry.

According to the director and producer KNR Raja, Vijayalakshmi was interested in acting since childhood, and Maaveeran Pillai was a dream realised. The film sheds light on the effects of alcoholism and its impact on families. Raja reveals that the universality of the theme made him release the film in two languages.

Maaveeran Pillai, which also stars Radha Ravi and Raja, has Manjunath handling the cinematography, background score by Prem, and the song composition by Ravivarma.
