Here's a sneak peek into creating Jayam Ravi's Arunmozhi Varman look for Ponniyin Selvan

The music and trailer of the film will be launched on March 29

Earlier, we reported that Ponniyin Selvan II will hit the theatres on April 28. Ahead of the release, the makers, on Sunday, shared a video featuring the process of dressing up Arunmozhi Varman, played by Jayam Ravi.

While his costumes are designed by Eka Lakhani, his hair and make-up were done by Vikram Gaikwad. His ornaments were designed by Kishandas & Co. The video offers a glimpse of books and sketches which served as a reference for creating the titular Ponniyin Selvan's look. It also shows various improvisation made to get the desired look. The makers previously released a video showing the process of creating Kundavai's (Trisha) and Aditha Karikalan's (Vikram) looks. 

Directed by Mani Ratnam, the first part of the film was received very well and minted big at the box office. The epic period film also features, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban.

The film, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. Produced under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners, Ponniyin Selvan was shot by Ravi Varman, while AR Rahman composed the music. The technical crew includes editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani.
