Pizza 3: The Mummy gets release date

The film marks the directorial debut of Mohan Govind

Ashwin Kakumanu's upcoming film, Pizza 3: The Mummy, the third instalment of the successful Pizza franchise went on floors in early 2021. While the film was set to hit theatres in November 2022, it was postponed. On Thursday, the makers announced that the film is slated for release on May 12. 

The makers announced the release date, along with a promo video which had clippings from all the films in the Pizza series. 

Pizza 3: The Mummy, marks the directorial debut of Mohan Govind. Backed by CV Kumar's Thirukumaran Entertainment, Pizza 3 also stars Kaali Venkat, Raveena Daha, Pavithrah Marimuthu, and Gaurav Narayanan. 

With music by Arun Raj, Pizza 3 will have cinematography by Prabhu Raghav, and editing by Ignatious Aswin.

Incidentally, all three instalments of the Pizza franchise was helmed by a debutant filmmaker. While the first film, Pizza, launched the career of Karthik Subbaraj, Pizza 2: The Villa was directed by debutant Deepan Chakravarthy.
