Ashwin Kakumanu pens a note on Aga Naga from PS II

AR Rahman has composed the music for Ponniyin Selvan II

The first single from Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan II was released on Monday. Composed by AR Rahman, Aga Naga is sung by Shakthisree Gopalan. Ilango Krishnan has written the lyrics for the song. 

Ashwin Kakumanu, who plays the role of Sendham Amudhan in PSII, has taken to Twitter to share his opinion about Aga Naga. He wrote, "This piece of music floored me with its simplicity and elegance the first time I heard it in PS1. Can't wait to see how it's used in PS2."

Directed by Mani Ratnam Ponniyin Selvan I was received very well and minted big at the box office. The epic period film also features Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban.

Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, Ponniyin Selvan is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. Produced under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners, Ponniyin Selvan was shot by Ravi Varman, while AR Rahman composed the music. The technical crew includes editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani. Ponniyin Selvan II is all set to hit theatres on April 28.
