Oscars 2023: Suriya congratulates team RRR for Naatu Naatu win

RRR's Naatu Naatu brought home the pride of Oscars by winning the award for Best Original Song. It is to be noted that it is the first time an Indian production has won in the category. Composed by MM Keeravani, the song was penned by Chandrabose. It is sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. Chandrabose.

As the film fraternity in India come together to wish the team for their achievement, actor Suriya is the latest to join.

In a tweet, the actor wrote, “Mighty congratulations to Team RRR Movie!!! The Academy award for Nattu Nattu is a recognition of your excellence MM Keeravaani sir. Super glad to see the vision of SS Rajamouli sir shine at Oscars 95 India shines!”

Other songs which were nominated along with Naatu Naatu were Applause from Tell It like a Woman, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and This is a Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once in the Best Original Song category at the Oscars.

Naatu Naatu also won the Golden Globe awards earlier this year, becoming the first Asian song to achieve the feat.
