The shooting for Kottravai, the first part of CV Kumar's ambitious trilogy is wrapped. The makers made the announcement on Saturday. The film stars Rajesh Kanagasabai, Vela Ramamoorthy, Anupama Kumar, and Pawan. 

Previously, the makers released the first single from the film. Titled Kottravai Veriyattam, the song is composed by Ghibran with lyrics from Kadhirmozhi Sudha. Gold Devaraj, Aravind Srinivas, Deepthi Suresh and Roshini JKV have sung Kottravai Veriyattam.

Kottravai has cinematography by Prakash Rudra and editing by Ignatius Ashwin. According to the makers, the film will revolve around the mysteries of mystics.

Kottravai marks the third directorial of CV Kumar after Maayavan and Gangs of Madras. Having produced over 15 films in his career, CV Kumar also introduced filmmakers like Karthik Subbaraj (Pizza), Nalan Kumarasamy (Soodhu Kavvum), and Pa Ranjith (Attakathi). 

Earlier, the makers announced that the film will have a theatrical release in January 2023, however, it got postponed. Kottravai is expected to hit theatres soon.
