The makers of Maamannan announced that veteran actor-comedian Vadivelu has begun dubbing for the film. Directed by Mari Selvaraj, the film stars Udhayanidhi Stalin, Keerthy Suresh and Fahadh Faasil.

Maamannan, produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin's production house, Red Giant Movies, has music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Theni Eswar. It may be noted that Vadivelu, who has been very doing very few films of late, made a full-fledged comeback with Suraj's Naai Sekar Returns. Apart from Maamannan, the actor has Chandramukhi 2 in the pipeline. Meanwhile, Udhayanidhi earlier revealed that Maamannan will be his last project in his cinema career.
