Mani Ratnam, Ram Charan and others invited to become a member of the Academy

Karan Johar, Jr NTR, Sidharth Roy Kapur, Chandrabose and MM Keeravani have also received membership invites

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited a few members from the Indian film fraternity to join the Academy while handing out membership invites. The list includes Mani Ratnam, Karan Johar, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Sidharth Roy Kapur, Chandrabose and MM Keeravani. 

Art Director Sabu Cyril and cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar have also been invited to be a member. Other actors who have been invited worldwide include Austin Butler, Key Huy Quan, and Keke Palmer, among others. 

Wishing Mani Ratnam, music composer AR Rahman took to Twitter to write, "Congratulations Mani Ratnam sir for becoming a member of the Academy. Welcome to the club!"

 If all those who have been invited to join the Academy this year accept the membership, the Academy will have 10817 members, with 9375 eligible to vote for the upcoming 96th Academy Awards happening on March 10, 2024.
