Actor Karthi has finished shooting for his upcoming quirky actioner Japan, directed by Raju Murugan. With only patch works remaining in the shoot, the film is said to be on track for a Deepavali release.

The teaser of the film, which was released on Karthi's birthday recently, showcased him in a never before seen look and role as a wacky gangster.

Backed by Dream Warrior Pictures, Japan marks the second collaboration between director Raju Murugan and Dream Warrior Pictures after Joker.  Apart from Karthi, Japan stars Anu Emmanuel, Sunil, and cinematographer-filmmaker Vijay Milton in pivotal roles.

While the music of Japan is by GV Prakash Kumar, the cinematography and editing is by Ravi Varman, and Philomin Raj, respectively.
