Earlier we reported that Sun Pictures will be bankrolling Dhanush's 50th film, tentatively titled D50. While the production banner is yet to disclose more information about the film, speculations are rife that the film denotes the one marking Dhanush's sophomore directorial. 

As per the same reports, SJ Suryah, Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan are likely to star as leads in the film, alongside Dhanush. The latest report suggests that Aparna Balamurali has also joined the film's cast. However, we await official confirmation from the makers of D50.

On the work front, Dhanush is working on Arun Matheswaran’s Captain Miller. Touted to be an action drama, the film is set in the 1980s. Aparna Balamurali, on the other hand, was recently seen in the Malayalam hit film 2018. She currently has Dhoomam, Ula, Padmini, Mindiyum Paranjum and Rudhiram in the pipeline.
