Earlier, it was reported that Dhanush's 50th film, tentatively titled D50, was recently announced to be produced by Sun Pictures. Dhanush is said to direct and star in the film. 

Meanwhile, the latest speculation is that the makers are in talks with actor Trisha to play the female lead role in the film. However, no official announcement has been made yet. On the other hand, a few more reports suggested that Kalidas Jayaram and Dushara Vijayan are reportedly roped in for prominent roles.

That apart, the buzz also suggests that director Mithran Jawahar of Thiruchitrambalam fame is expected to work with Dhanush on the script of D50. 

Meanwhile, Trisha, last seen in Ponniyin Selvan 2, has a slew of projects in the pipeline, including the Mohanlal-starrer Ram, The Road, and Sathuranga Vettai 2.
