Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 to get a Tamil remake

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is set to be remade in Tamil.

Producer Gnanavel Raja, who bankrolled the 2010 film Singam starring Suriya, which was remade in 2011 by Rohit Shetty as Singham, has bought the rights of the film. “Yes, I have purchased the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 south remake rights. I believe it's a nice story to be told here with a different spin,” he said, as per reports.

The producer, however, said that they haven’t decided on who to cast for the film. “I am currently in the process of finalizing the cast and crew. I haven't zeroed in on anyone yet,” he said.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is an original film written by Aakash Kaushik and directed by Anees Bazmee.  

 The prequel Bhool Bhulaiyaa, directed by Priyadarshan, was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu (1993). The film was also remade in Kannada as Apthamitra (2004), in Tamil as Chandramukhi and in Bengali as Rajmohol.

Gnanavel Raja is the founder of Studio Green. The production house was established in 2006 and he has bankrolled several memorable films like Paruthiveeran (2007),  Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), Siruthai (2011), Madras (2014), Darling (2015), Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (2018) etc. His upcoming films are Kanguva, starring Suriya and Thangalaan, starring Vikram.
