Kamal Haasan pens an emotional note on the birth anniversary of SPB

June 4, 2023, marks the 77th birth anniversary of the late veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam. Even as celebrities across industries are remembering the doyen, actor Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to share his thoughts. 

In Tamil, he wrote, "There is a philosophical phrase that goes 'Be without actually being'. My brother SP Balasubrahmanyam is one who still exists even without actually existing. My heartfelt wishes on the birthday of Balu Annayya, who is always with us as a sweet voice, a never-ending joke, and an everlasting character."

SP Balasubrahmanyam has sung several songs for films that have starred Kamal Haasan. Some of the songs include Rum Bumbum Aarambam, Mounamana Neram, Vaanam Thottu Pona, etc. The two have acted together in films including Kamal Haasan's 100th film Raja Paarvai, Gunaa, and Avvai Shanmughi among others.
