Kamal Haasan wishes Ilaiyaraaja on his 80th birthday

On Friday, Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to wish veteran music composer Ilaiyaraaja on the occasion of his birthday. The actor and the musician have worked together on several films, including Nayakan, Virumaandi, Hey Ram, and Moondram Pirai among others.

Sharing an old black-and-white photo of himself with the legendary composer, Kamal wrote in Tamil, "An era of cinema has continued to entertain us over eight decades. I, lai, ya, ra, ja are the five rare swaras of Indian cinema's music. He is the one who has emphatically set his throne and is the most worthy of my Love and Wonder. He is none other than my great brother Ilayarajaa. Happy Birthday to the Eka Chakrapathi of the music world."

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is currently filming for Shankar's Indian 2 and also has KH234 with Mani Ratnam in his pipeline. On the other hand, Ilaiyaraaja's most recent film compositions include Cutsody, Music School and Modern Love Chennai.
