The striking feature of the recently released teaser of Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran was the actor's quirky upward glance at an entity in the skies. The Madonne Ashwin directorial has a fantasy element to it, and it features a voice from the sky that only Sivakarthikeyan's Sathya can hear. Many names including Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were rumoured to be voicing this entity. However, the makers now revealed the voice that will govern the actions of Sivakarthikeyan in the film.

The voice will be none other than... Vijay Sethupathi. The video reveal had him telling the tagline of the film, "Veerame Jeyam." Thanking Vijay Sethupathi for the gesture, Sivakarthikeyan said, "My dear brother. Thank you for your kind gesture. I am elated to collaborate with your voice in Maaveeran."

Incidentally, in Vijay Sethupathi's Rekka (2016), the actor once recreated Sivakarthikeyan's iconic Maan Karate pose, which quelled rumours of a clash between them. Since then the camaraderie between the stars has been often seen in many events.

Backed by Shanthi Talkies, Maaveeran is set to hit theatres on July 14. The Telugu version, titled Mahaveerudu, will also release on the same day.

Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, Maaveeran stars Saritha, Mysskin, Aditi Shankar, Yogi Babu and Monisha. With cinematography by Vidhu Ayyanna, Maaveeran has music by Bharath Shankar and editing by Philomin Raj.
