Jackie Shroff to star in Rajinikanth’s Jailer

CE Features

With 2023 almost going to witness the release of every Tamil actor, one of the most anticipated films, is Rajinikanth's Jailer. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, and with a star ensemble, the latest update is that Jackie Shroff is also starring in the film.

Recently, at a press interaction outside Jodhpur station, Jackie Shroff revealed that he is a part of Jailer and that he has been filming for it at Jodhpur. Jailer marks Jackie and Rajinikanth’s third collaboration together. Earlier, the duo worked together on Uttar Dakshin, directed by Prabhat Khanna, in 1987. The film was later dubbed in Tamil titled Chella Pillai. They also worked together in Kochadaiyaan. Jackie Shroff is known for his role as the antagonist in Vijay-starrer Bigil

This means that Jailer will feature four reigning actors from Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi, respectively, making it a complete pan-Indian film. The presence of Mohanlal, Shivrajkumar, and Sunil has already been announced by the makers.

Jailer is backed by Sun Pictures and has music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. The teaser of the film introduced Rajinikanth as a jail warden Muthuvel Pandian. The film also features Tamanaah, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, Ramya Krishnan and Vinayakan.
