We had earlier reported that director Priyadarshan is teaming up with actor Urvashi for her 700th film titled Appatha. The latest update is that the film has been selected as the opening film at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Film Festival.  The screening of Appatha will be held in Mumbai on January 27 at the Films Division Complex.

The film is touted to be a beautiful tale of an unlikely bond. The duo previously worked together in the Malayalam film Mithunan which got released 28 years back in 1993. Appatha is written by Hardik Gajjar with a screenplay by Priyadarshan and Deepthi Govindarajan.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Film Festival is organised by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Government of India, through the National Film Development Corporation in association with the SCO Council of Heads of States.
