Veteran comedy actor Vadivelu's mother, Paapa, has passed away. She breathed her last on January 18th.

She was 87 years old and lived in the family's home in Viraganoor, Madurai. The octogenarian was reportedly admitted to a private hospital for the past few days due to age-related ailments.

Vadivelu has rushed to his hometown to perform the last rites, to be held today evening. Celebrities and audiences have taken to social media to mourn the demise of Paapa.

On the work front, Vadivelu was recently seen in Naai Sekar Returns. He will next be seen in P Vasu's Chandramukhi 2, alongside Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence and Mari Selvaraj's Maamannan, co-starring Fahadh Faasil, Udhayanidhi Stalin and Keerthy Suresh.
