Filmmaker Alphonse Puthren has never shied away from expressing his ardent adoration and respect for Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. Recently, the filmmaker was on cloud nine as he got an opportunity to meet his cinema icon. 

Taking to his social media handle, Alphonse shared a photo with Kamal. In the caption, he wrote, "Met the Mount Everest of Cinema Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan for the first time in my life." He also said that he sought Kamal's blessings and got an opportunity to know 5-6 small plots. 

He further noted that he took notes of whatever Kamal shared with him. "But as a student, I was scared whether I would miss out on any of the content he told me." Calling this meeting an unbelievable, surreal and beautiful experience, Alphonse thanked the universe and others for making this possible. On the work front, Alphonse's recently directed the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Gold. The film did not do well at the box office.
