First single of Raid to be released soon

Avinash Ramachandran

Vikram Prabhu had quite a successful year in 2022 with Taanakkaran and Ponniyin Selvan

The actor will hope to continue the good run in 2023 with his first release of the year, Raid. Directed by debutant filmmaker Karthi, Raid has dialogues by director Muthiah, who has worked with Vikram Prabhu in Pulikuthi Pandi. Now, the latest update from team Raid is that the first single, titled Yenta Maatatha, is set to be released on Friday.

With music by Sam CS, Raid marks the second collaboration between Vikram Prabhu and Sri Divya, who were earlier part of the 2014 comedy, Vellaikara Durai

Although details regarding the story, release date, and the rest of the cast are being kept under wraps, it is speculated that Raid is a remake of the superhit Kannada film, Tagaru, which starred Shivarajkumar and Dhananjaya.

Meanwhile, Vikram Prabhu also has the second instalment of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan ready for release. The major multistarrer, which features Vikram Prabhu in the role of Parthibendra Pallava, is set to hit screens worldwide on April 28.
