Parthiban has begun dubbing for Ponniyin Selvan 2. The update was shared by the director-actor himself on his Twitter handle with a cryptic tweet, that hinted that he is dubbing for a sequel film. The actor plays Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyar in the duology. 

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan 1, which was released in 2022, went on to become the biggest hit of the year in Tamil. The first film ended with a cliffhanger and the second part will reveal the heir to the royal Chola throne. Based on the classic novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, the film starred Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Aishwarya Rai in the lead. 

Both the parts of music by AR Rahman, cinematography by Ravivarman and editing by Srikar Prasad. Ponniyin Selvan 2 will hit the screens on April 28.
