Ayothi, the upcoming Tamil film starring filmmaker-actor Sasikumar in the lead role, is set to hit the theatres on Friday, the makers announced on social media on Monday.

The film is directed by R Manthira Moorthy. Apart from Sasikumar, the film also stars Yashpal Sharma, Preethi Asrani, Pugazh, among others. The trailer, which was voiced by Vijay Sethupathi, was released recently. The film is expected to be an emotional thriller about the religious divide among people which prevents them from helping each other.

The technical crew of Ayothi consists of Madheshmanickam as the cinematographer, and San Lokesh handling the edits. The music is composed by NR Ragunanthan and G Durai Raj is the art director. The film is bankrolled by R Ravindran's Trident Arts banner.
