Director Gautham Vasudev Menon will be sharing the screen space with actor Silambarasan in the upcoming film Pathu Thala. To mark the director's birthday on Saturday, the makers of the film released the poster featuring his character.

Notably, Gautham and Silambarasan have extensively collaborated off-screen where the latter was directed by the filmmaker in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part 1, which will be followed by the second part soon. However, this will be the first time Gautham will be working with Silambarasan onscreen.

Pathu Thala is set to release on March 30. With music composed by AR Rahman, Pathu Thala is a remake of the 2017 Kannada film Mufti. The upcoming film is helmed by Obeli N Krishna. Silambarasan will reportedly essay the character originally played by Shivarajkumar in the Kannada version.

The film is produced by Jayantilal Gada and KE Gnanavelraja. The film also stars Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalaiyarasan, and Teejay Arunasalam. With cinematography by Farook J Basha, Pathu Thala will have editing by Praveen KL.
